Affordable and reliable power supplies for optimum uptime
In industry, reliability and availability are written in capital letters. Machine manufacturers, installers and OEMs must rely on the power supply to ensure machine continuity. The CP-D and CP-E series are affordable power supplies of trusted ABB quality.
There are many types of power supplies and they are vital components in energy distributors and control cabinets. ABB offers four different series of power supplies, good for every application. Their reliability has been proven in numerous environments worldwide. The power supplies connect seamlessly to other ABB components used in control and distribution cabinets. Two power supply series have recently been completely renewed: the affordable CP-E series for industrial applications and the CP-D series for energy distributors.
CP-D: especially for panel and cabinet manufacturing
The CP-D series is characterised by its compact, modular housing and comes in six different versions from 10 – 100 W. With a modular DIN rail design and a width of 18 - 90 mm, this series is ideal for installation in energy distributors. The low height also makes it suitable in control cabinets where height is crucial.
Thanks to the wide input voltage range, the power supply is applicable in many situations. Like the CP-E series, the thermal efficiency of this power supply is very high. Power consumption and heat dissipation are therefore low, enabling the use of the power supply without forced cooling. The models with more than 10 W are equipped with an adjustable output signal, allowing you to adapt the power supply modules optimally to your application.

CP-E: affordable industrial power supply
The affordable CP-E series offers extensive functionalities. For example, these power supplies are used for various control cabinets in automation projects and machines in the food and packaging industry. The power supply has a separate signal contact output to monitor the output voltage or remote diagnosis. The CP-E is available in models from 15 – 480 W.
The CP-E is available with various continuously adjustable output voltages from 5 – 48 VDC, allowing the power supply module to be tailored to any application. For example, compensation for voltage drops due to long cable lengths can now be compensated by the power supply. For applications where redundancy is required, a separate redundancy module is available. The CP-E series also scores high in terms of sustainability, with an efficiency of 90%.
