Remote and yet close

Take advantage of proven improved performance with IO-link from IMI Norgren

Optimal production performance is within reach of manufacturers thanks to the improved operational productivity that the integration of IO-Link into a full system provides. Using the open and standardized communication system, manufacturers can enjoy proven benefits such as fast installation, remote system monitoring capability, simplified maintenance planning, reduced downtime and real-time access to accurate data.

An IO-Link system consists of an IO-Link master and one or more devices that are IO-Link compatible. The IO-Link master provides the interface to the higher-level PLC controller and controls the communication between the linked IO-Link devices.
The integrated intelligence of IO-Link ensures that a device has identification data, for example a type of assignment and a serial number or parameter data (e.g. sensitivities, delays at switches or characteristic curves), which can be read or written via the IO-Link protocol. This allows the PLC to change parameters during use and provides comprehensive diagnostic data.

A complete system from IMI Norgren

Norgren offers a full IO-Link system, including a wide range of devices compatible with IO-Link, as well as an Ethernet IO module and IO-Link master. You can integrate it into an existing IO-Link infrastructure or as part of a standalone, tailor-made solution to get the most out of connected manufacturing processes.

1)    IO-Link Mastering I / O Module.

The IO-Link Master acts as a gateway between IO-Link devices and the higher level communication system, such as Ethernet. It can transmit data across different networks, making the data accessible for immediate action or long-term analysis through an industrial information system (PLC, HMI, etc.).
Communication: PROFINET, EtherNet / IP EtherCAT - port class A and port class B.

2)    Excelon Plus air handling product with integrated electronic pressure IO-link sensor

A compact, easy to use and lightweight solution that is compatible with IO-Link. The product can be set up remotely and provides application performance data for improved monitoring. Take advantage of integrated diagnostics, self-test functions and status error messages to monitoring critical system and performance.

3)    VR Series Valve Islands

This valve island features simple valve connectivity for easy installation and maintenance, and offers a wide range of configuration options and long-lasting performance. Available in two valve widths, 10 and 15 mm, the VR10 / 15 series is ideal for a wide range of industrial automation industries.

4)    VP50 Proportional Valve

A three-way, closed loop proportional valve with air-operated gasketless purge technology that provides high flow and fast response times. IO-Link offers easy installation, confirmation of output pressure and input signal, self-monitoring of the valve and a notification function for performance problems.

5)    34D and 54D Pressure Sensors

With advantages in accuracy, longevity and functionality, these electronic pressure sensors allow the user to respond quickly and effectively to changed requirements through built-in intelligence. Preset pressures can be programmed manually or remotely via IO-Link, with high visibility through LED lights and digital displays. Electronic pressure sensors are especially useful in applications where the classic mechanical pressure switch is not suitable.

6)    VS Series Valve Islands

Users can take advantage of additional capabilities thanks to the modular VS Series, which features two flush technologies, with the "soft seal" flush seal increasing speed and flow. The VS Series Norgren valve islands are available in valve widths of both 18 and 26 mm and deliver flow rates of 550 L / min and 1350 L / min respectively.

The availability of machines and plants is a basic requirement for productivity. In order to minimize unplanned downtimes, it is necessary to detect the sources of error at an early stage. This is exactly where SIPLUS CMS Condition Monitoring Systems come in: they continuously monitor the condition of mechanical components of your machines – even throughout the entire plant. SIPLUS CMS therefore represents an important step toward the digital factory, where all the players including machines, products and people along the value chain will be networked. SIPLUS CMS working together with MindSphere – the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens – opens up completely new possibilities. The powerful cloud platform is designed for analyzing large quantities of data and enables machine parks all over the world to be monitored for service purposes in order to reduce their downtimes.
