More safety light curtains from Leuze: hands off!

ELC safety light curtains from Leuze: an economical, modern solution and, not unimportant in these times, fast delivery.

Past results are no guarantee for the future! We all know it: the prevention of injury to people  working on a machine (or several machines linked together) must be ensured. Fake safety can be deadly  – Just because it looks safe it does not mean it is!

When designing a machine, safety is a necessary part and a machine builder will realize this. Once in use "in the field," it must of course be ensured. It happens, that after years of use, changes have occurred or it is planned to implement them. If safety is an issue, Leuze can help with its many safety options (from individual products to complete safety solutions) in order to achieve a safe situation.

A good example is the new ELC light screen, which can be used for many applications when it comes to preventing access to a dangerous machine: the screen detects fingers and hands and is therefore available in various resolutions and lengths, with ranges of up to 6 meters between transmitter and receiver.

Not too many bells and whistles, but doing what it is supposed to do: protect! With a comfortable (M12) connection technique, flat mounting at (so safe up to) profile ends(!), quick mounting by multiple mounting techniques and a very simple alignment aid on the front by means of a LED bargraph. As a result, a screen is quickly mounted and optimally aligned: separate alignment aids are therefore not necessary (convenient, just like our integrated laser alignment in the MLD Series exit/entry guards).

Siemens SIPLUS
The availability of machines and plants is a basic requirement for productivity. In order to minimize unplanned downtimes, it is necessary to detect the sources of error at an early stage. This is exactly where SIPLUS CMS Condition Monitoring Systems come in: they continuously monitor the condition of mechanical components of your machines – even throughout the entire plant. SIPLUS CMS therefore represents an important step toward the digital factory, where all the players including machines, products and people along the value chain will be networked. SIPLUS CMS working together with MindSphere – the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens – opens up completely new possibilities. The powerful cloud platform is designed for analyzing large quantities of data and enables machine parks all over the world to be monitored for service purposes in order to reduce their downtimes.

Phoenix Contact Axioline
The modular station communicates with a PROFINET controller, e.g., a distributed control system, via a bus coupler. As an option, up to eight PROFIBUS PA segments can be connected to the individual proxy outlets in a compact way. To ensure the individual segments are immune to interference, appropriate shield connection technology is available.
