Building & Infrastructure

Automation is pushing its way into our buildings, under the term domotics. This is to increase comfort and convenience. For example, in homes, offices and factories, it can be used to turn the heating up or down, or completely regulate climate and lighting. The security system is easy to turn on and off and is useful for opening or closing the curtains at home.

Domotics make a building more efficient and ‘intelligent’. The user can control the various functions remotely, but the system can also run automatically according to a programme with settings for time, temperature, light, etc. Furthermore, the detection of individuals is an option. If it concerns an undesired person, an alarm will sound automatically if necessary. If no one is present, the lighting can be switched off and the heating possibly turned down.

If domotics are installed, then the further communication infrastructure in a building can be scrutinised. Think of Wi-Fi with better range or a (wireless) network for the Internet of Things applications. Modernisation of the building infrastructure often includes the application of LED lighting. A previously conceived light plan can optimise light levels throughout the building – think of occupational health and safety standards. LED also reduces energy consumption and that ensures a reduction of costs and CO2 emissions (sustainability). Thanks to the long lifespan of LED lamps, the maintenance costs are also reduced.

The technical value-added distributor can advise on all of these aspects of building automation and modernisation. On top of that, he can provide the required technology, including domotics, lighting and communication. If desired, he also provides the necessary mechanical and electrotechnical supplies, including conventional installation work, cable infrastructure, and even hinges and locks. This is how this partner ensures an efficient and intelligent approach to building automation.
