Schneider Electric - ATV Predict: smart predictive maintenance solution for pump applications
In an industrial environment where downtime is costly and efficiency is crucial, Schneider Electric's ATV Predict offers an innovative solution for predictive maintenance of pump applications. Integrated into Altivar 600 (ATV600) variable speed drives, this technology combines AI and in-depth application knowledge to detect and predict potential failures early on, without the need for additional sensors or hardware.
What is ATV Predict?
ATV Predict is a software-based service that uses the existing electrical signals within the frequency converter to monitor both the drive and the connected pump. By analysing the dynamics of speed and torque, the system can recognise and predict mechanical and electrical deviations. This is done autonomously, thanks to a self-calibrated learning phase.
ATV Predict detects and predicts faults in both the drive and the pump. Among other things, the system recognises IGBT ageing, overheating, DC bus ripple, fan problems, cavitation in various stages, dry running, wear, blockages and vortex formation. It also predicts possible defects such as damaged IGBTs, a damaged pump impeller and worn wear rings. In this way, ATV Predict helps to plan maintenance in good time and avoid unexpected downtime.
