The nose for safety

The most comprehensive protection for man and machine

Telemecanique Sensors has been a specialist in industrial automation, sensors, sensing technology and safety engineering for over 90 years. With a comprehensive range of safety products, which meet the very strict international safety standards, Telemecanique Sensors offers the most comprehensive protection for personnel and equipment.

One supplier for the entire safety chain

Telemecanique Sensors' portfolio solutions cover the broad environment of sensors from electromechanics to electronic products and from sensing to identification and distance measurement. Telemecanique Sensors' safety portfolio offers solutions for the various safety functions that together cover the complete safety chain. Whether monitoring and safely stopping dangerous machines or movements, locking and monitoring access to machines and facilities, or warning of hazardous situations, Telemecanique Sensors' line of safety products offers a variety of machine safety solutions. The safety architectures offer solutions for both Machine Builders (Machinery Directive) and Industrial End Users (Work Equipment Directive), providing optimal safety for personnel up to the highest desired safety level (PLe and SIL Class 3).

Safety sensors for dusty environments

The Telemecanique Sensors range of sensors for hazardous dust atmospheres comply with the global international standard IECEx and the latest European ATEX directive. By choosing a Telemecanique Sensors product for your dust machine application, you are choosing a sensor that has been tested and certified to perform in a manner that meets these very stringent safety standards.

The Zone System

ATEX (defined by AT: atmosphere and EX: explosive), IECEx and NEC 506 all use the same safety concept called the zone system. The zone defines the probability that the hazardous material (dust) will be present in sufficient quantities to produce explosive or flammable mixtures.

Zone 20 - An area where combustible dust or flammable fibers are suspended in the air continuously or for long periods of time.
Zone 21 - An area where combustible dust or flammable fibers are suspended in the air under normal operating conditions.
Zone 22 - An area where combustible dust or flammable fibers, under normal operating conditions, are unlikely to float in the air and do so only for a short period of time.

The various ranges of sensors are ATEX and IECEx certified for use in all Zone 21 or Zone 22 applications. (Atex-D)

The range of safety solutions includes safety limit switches, safety interlock switches, non-contact magnetic safety switches, non-contact RFID safety sensors, safety light curtains and emergency stop pull cord switches.

Siemens SIPLUS
The availability of machines and plants is a basic requirement for productivity. In order to minimize unplanned downtimes, it is necessary to detect the sources of error at an early stage. This is exactly where SIPLUS CMS Condition Monitoring Systems come in: they continuously monitor the condition of mechanical components of your machines – even throughout the entire plant. SIPLUS CMS therefore represents an important step toward the digital factory, where all the players including machines, products and people along the value chain will be networked. SIPLUS CMS working together with MindSphere – the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens – opens up completely new possibilities. The powerful cloud platform is designed for analyzing large quantities of data and enables machine parks all over the world to be monitored for service purposes in order to reduce their downtimes.

Phoenix Contact Axioline
The modular station communicates with a PROFINET controller, e.g., a distributed control system, via a bus coupler. As an option, up to eight PROFIBUS PA segments can be connected to the individual proxy outlets in a compact way. To ensure the individual segments are immune to interference, appropriate shield connection technology is available.
