This is why it will never be dangerous

Non-contact RFID-encoded safety switches from Telemecanique Sensors

Working with machines involves risks. This relates to both the machine and the user of the machine. Safety is therefore an important factor for machine builders and industrial end users in every market segment. Telemecanique Sensors' XCSR non-contact RFID-encoded safety switches provide the highest level of safety protection in compact machines where personnel protection is required. Basic applications are for monitoring the position of movable safety switches to prevent dangerous situations when the safety guard is opened.

Highest level of protection and tamper-proof

Telemecanique Sensors' XCSR non-contact RFID-encoded safety switches are TüV-certified with a Cat4/PL e - SIL3 rating and guarantee an exceptionally robust safety solution. Thanks to the design of the XCSR safety switch, the safety system is protected against tampering. The ready-to-use transponder and reader are factory paired and sold together with a unique, high quality coding. Once the safety system is installed, the functionality cannot be changed or manipulated.

Easy installation and flexibility

Installation of the XCSR contactless RFID-encoded safety switch is extremely simple, offering a variety of mounting configurations with only one product reference. The XCSR series comes with an adjustable transponder sensing surface and offers three different connection options to fit in almost any industrial environment: standalone, series and single. The single model allows point-to-point connections to a security controller. The series model allows direct connection to a simple safety relay and series diagnostics via a diagnostic module. No programming software is required. The series model comes with integrated M12 series connectors, eliminating the need for T or Y connectors.

Standalone: RFID safety switches with integrated safety relay

The XCSR RFID-coded safety switches with integrated safety relay are specifically designed to be used as standalone products. The standalone model allows direct connection to contactors, i.e. without a safety relay, controller or PLC. This model has integrated safety functions such as switch monitoring and manual or automatic start and restart functions. In standalone mode, the two OSSDs are directly connected to the contactors. This connection is made via a pre-wired 8 pin M12 connector.

Siemens SIPLUS
The availability of machines and plants is a basic requirement for productivity. In order to minimize unplanned downtimes, it is necessary to detect the sources of error at an early stage. This is exactly where SIPLUS CMS Condition Monitoring Systems come in: they continuously monitor the condition of mechanical components of your machines – even throughout the entire plant. SIPLUS CMS therefore represents an important step toward the digital factory, where all the players including machines, products and people along the value chain will be networked. SIPLUS CMS working together with MindSphere – the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens – opens up completely new possibilities. The powerful cloud platform is designed for analyzing large quantities of data and enables machine parks all over the world to be monitored for service purposes in order to reduce their downtimes.
