Siemens introduces intelligent link module to enhance data transparency in industrial applications
SIRIUS 3RC7 ILM
Field components can be seamlessly integrated into the automation system
Diagnostics facilitate detection of faults, anomalies, and maintenance needs, enabling preventive maintenance
With the SIRIUS 3RC7 Intelligent Link Module (ILM), Siemens now offers a fast and easy way to achieve full data transparency down to the field level by making conventional motor starters intelligent. This plug-and-play extension module combines Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) with minimal installation and commissioning effort. This allows the data available from field devices to be efficiently utilized.
As part of Siemens' leading automation concept, the TIA Portal, the 3RC7 ILMs are seamlessly integrated into existing automation environments. 3RC7 is part of the comprehensive SIRIUS portfolio for industrial control gear.
SIRIUS Control goes digital!
With the SIRIUS 3RC7 ILM, you can integrate the load via the motor starter directly into the automation system. It offers a new level of transparency. Measurement values are immediately available, as are real-time status messages and integrated diagnostics. This extension module turns a conventional motor starter into an intelligent one. It enables communication and parameterization across the SIRIUS portfolio. The intelligent motor starter can thus not only protect and switch but also measure, monitor, control, and report.
Highlights
- Control, protect, monitor, and measure with a single module!
- Diagnostics fully integrated into SIMATIC
More than just a link module
The SIRIUS 3RC7 ILM connects the standard 3RT2 contactor and standard 3RV2 motor protection circuit breaker both electrically and mechanically, in sizes S00 and S0 with spring-loaded terminals (up to 15kW/400V AC). The electronic overload protection, configurable via software, has a setting range of 0.4 to 32 A. With the 3RC7 ILM, you gain direct insight into the status of the load through information such as current, voltage, power, and phase asymmetry. Additionally, relevant data on operating hours, number of switching cycles, and overload trips are available for effectively scheduling timely maintenance of the connected device or system.
SIRIUS 3RC7 ILM becomes one with SIMATIC
Thanks to full integration into the TIA Portal, users receive real-time status information within their operator interface, allowing quick identification of bottlenecks. This prevents downtime and increases system availability. The SIRIUS 3RC7 intelligent link modules integrate perfectly into the compact SIMATIC ET 200SP I/O system and other common automation systems. Up to 16 loads can be connected per bus adapter, benefiting from easy commissioning, scalability, and maximum flexibility provided by the SIMATIC ET 200SP system. Module addressing is not required, and component replacement does not require a laptop or PC.
