Simplify validation processes virtually

Validation processes during the engineering phase are expensive. Individual components must be on-site and connected to each other. In some cases, components must be delivered specifically for testing or retrieved from storage locations. The simulation software SIRIUS Sim simplifies the process considerably by virtualizing the applications.

Early overview through virtualization

The SIRIUS Sim simulation environment lets users digitally acquaint themselves with the SIRIUS 3SK2 safety relays and the SIRIUS 3RW55 softstarters and try out applications without the need for actual components. A comprehensive simulation of the operation of the relay or starter enables fast, easy implementation of controls. Applications can easily be created in the simulator for this purpose. Simulated behaviors of the products are similar to the original, which enables rapid validation of the product's functionality and efficient troubleshooting. During the design phase in particular, this can reduce the amount of work because the products do not need to be physically installed and wired during the design phase. This means that any changes can be made easily.

SIRIUS Sim - 3RW55 Softstarters

Starting with SIRIUS Sim V2.0, full parameterization of the High feature SIRIUS 3RW55 softstarters including the failsafe version can be done. By using the same menu structure as of the 3RW5 high feature HMI, the user learns the full contents and functions of the device and performs a complete parameterization. Optionally, the parameterization can be stored on a micro SD card for later use in the softstarter. A simulation of the start and stop phases as well as, the operational phase and even faults are available to simulate.

SIRIUS Sim - 3SK2 Software parameterizable safety relay

As with the safety relay itself, the simulated parameterization of the SIRIUS 3SK2 also takes place in the engineering software Safety ES. The simulator also allows you to start learning about the parameterizable safety relay. Therefore, typical application examples are included in the software and can be tried out immediately. You do not need to own SIRIUS 3SK2 to use the simulator. In addition, the simulation software has an interface to Safety ES for configuring the relay. This makes the configuration quick and easy to test and adjust if necessary. The simulation software also works with the expansion modules think Profinet interface, 3SK and 3RQ1 contact expansion and the 3RM1 failsafe motor starter.

Switching like in the real world

The simulated devices respond the same to the "real" product. The full functionality of the product, including LEDs, displays and buttons, is available in SIRIUS Sim. This allows the device to react virtually exactly the same as in reality. The device is realistically rendered and the buttons and LEDs respond exactly as they do on hardware. Therefore, the display shows the same messages as in reality.

The software is available for free download. You can therefore become familiar with the 3SK2 safety relay or the 3RW55 softstarter from first-hand experience and learn how it behaves in applications.
