Siemens - Take a first step towards simulation

To create a Digital Twin of your machine, the implementation of your PLC-code is essential. Does everything work well together? Are all the movements being executed correct? How do I detect improvements in my code without my machine being physically with me? Does my PLC work correctly with the SCADA-system. To make this possible, simulate your PLC in PLCSIM advanced.

Get quick improvements from your installation

PLCSIM advanced allows you to emulate up to 16 PLCs. You can have them all communicate with a SCADA-system or with each other. Be careful though, because all PLCs do require computing power from your engineering station. Because PLCSIM advanced also supports functionalities such as OPC UA, TCP/IP, OUC and S7, you can test everything directly. So you can also directly test your safety programme with PLCSIM advanced.

Smart use of the API

The PLCSIM advanced API is open for anyone to use. So you can write your own piece of software and link to it to control certain IOs, for example. Is this not enough or do you prefer to go a step further? Then you can use various simulation software. Software such as SIMIT is ideally suited for this. This software can properly simulate the behaviour of your installation, by importing various behaviour models of your motors, valves, conveyors or (safety) IO, you can directly test everything of your machine in real-time.

Siemens SIPLUS
The availability of machines and plants is a basic requirement for productivity. In order to minimize unplanned downtimes, it is necessary to detect the sources of error at an early stage. This is exactly where SIPLUS CMS Condition Monitoring Systems come in: they continuously monitor the condition of mechanical components of your machines – even throughout the entire plant. SIPLUS CMS therefore represents an important step toward the digital factory, where all the players including machines, products and people along the value chain will be networked. SIPLUS CMS working together with MindSphere – the cloud-based, open IoT operating system from Siemens – opens up completely new possibilities. The powerful cloud platform is designed for analyzing large quantities of data and enables machine parks all over the world to be monitored for service purposes in order to reduce their downtimes.

Phoenix Contact Axioline
The modular station communicates with a PROFINET controller, e.g., a distributed control system, via a bus coupler. As an option, up to eight PROFIBUS PA segments can be connected to the individual proxy outlets in a compact way. To ensure the individual segments are immune to interference, appropriate shield connection technology is available.
