"Liever de lucht in" - translated as: "Then rather the sky!" - is what is said Lieutenant Commander Van Speijk (1802-1831) to have shouted as he stuck a burning cigar in the powder keg. But, what is everything? The legal requirements are not the same for every employer. That's why it's important for you to know exactly what is required of your company in this area. Among other things, we will discuss the two ATEX directives: 114 (on the safety of equipment and products) and 153 (on employee safety).

Arthur Rooze, the speaker, has more than 25 years of experience in explosion safety. He was ready to answer all possible questions about ATEX.

Since 2005, he has been senior consultant ATEX expert; formerly with D&F Consulting, currently with the Process Safety team within Kader Consultancy & Interim. In 2008, together with Gerd-Jan Frijters and Jacko Scholten, he wrote the book 'Explosion safety in 100 questions', focusing on the ATEX 137 directive in force at the time.
