ABB - Emax 2 circuit breakers offer new digital possibilities
The Emax 2 series of circuit breakers from ABB is a reliable solution for low-voltage installations, with features such as excellent connectivity, time-saving installation and ease of use. The series has been further developed with new applications and future requirements in mind.
Ekip Touch trip unit
An important addition is the Ekip Touch trip unit: a smart upgrade that makes Emax 2 circuit breakers future-proof. This standard trip unit can be expanded with security and measurement functions, such as monitoring consumption (kWh), voltage (DC/AC) and grid quality (cos phi). Optional communication modules allow the data to be read and analysed in systems or via the ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager cloud platform, enabling predictive maintenance.
New solutions for renewable energy
The Emax 2 series is also available in versions optimised for installations with renewable energy sources. The Emax 2 MS/DC-E 1500V DC has been developed for PV systems up to 4,000 A and 1500V DC. This version reduces the need for combiners, inverters and cabling, which increases efficiency, shortens installation time and reduces costs.
In addition, there is the Emax 2 / E9 900V AC, specifically for systems linked to wind and solar energy. This variant retains the compact form and protection rating of the standard Emax 2 and delivers reliable performance up to 900V AC in accordance with IEC standards.
