SICK – FTMg

From local monitoring to smart energy insights

Compressed air is one of the most expensive forms of energy in industrial production environments. Yet leaks often remain undetected for long periods, resulting in unnecessary energy consumption and higher operating costs. To address these challenges, SICK offers the FTMg, an intelligent flow sensor that not only measures process data but also makes it easily accessible for analysis and optimization.

The FTMg combines flow, temperature and process pressure measurement in a single compact sensor. This provides a complete picture of compressed air consumption without the need for multiple measuring instruments. This combination makes it possible to detect deviations, inefficiencies and leaks more quickly, helping to reduce energy losses and schedule maintenance more effectively.

A key advantage of the FTMg is its integrated web server. Users can access the sensor directly via a standard web browser to view measured values, adjust settings and perform diagnostics. This eliminates the need for additional software tools to quickly gain insight into the performance of an installation.

The sensor also supports various modern communication protocols, such as IO-Link, MQTT, REST API and OPC UA. This makes it easy to integrate measurement data into existing automation systems, SCADA platforms, dashboards or cloud environments. Companies can therefore decide for themselves how far they want to take their digitalization journey.

This flexibility enables a step-by-step approach. In an initial phase, users can monitor current measured values locally via the web server. The same data can then be integrated into broader software platforms via MQTT, REST API or OPC UA. In a subsequent step, the data can be forwarded to cloud solutions for centralized storage and analysis.

For companies that want to actively manage their energy consumption, the FTMg also provides an ideal data source for Sentio Energy Monitoring. By combining real-time measurement data with advanced analysis capabilities, users can visualize consumption trends, detect deviations and implement automatic leak detection. In this way, the sensor evolves from a measuring instrument into a valuable building block for a modern energy management and digitalization project.

With the FTMg, SICK therefore offers much more than just a flow sensor. It is a future-oriented solution that supports companies in saving energy, implementing predictive maintenance and further digitalizing their production environment.

Mennekes - DUOi with LED voltage indicator
The new switchable and lockable DUOi wall socket from MENNEKES gives you an immediate indication of its operating status. The integrated LED voltage indicator shows the status of the unit in a power supply network of up to 3 phases: green = switched on and operational. No LED indicates that the unit is switched off or that there may be a fault. This allows faults to be identified and resolved quickly. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
