Siemens - IO-Link: Smart connectivity for industrial automation
In an age where speed, efficiency and reliability are crucial, IO-Link provides the link between machines, sensors and your control systems. Thanks to direct data exchange and easy integration, you can get more out of your processes, reduce costs and lay the foundation for future-proof maintenance.
IO-Link: The Power of Real-Time Data Exchange
IO-Link is a standardised communication protocol that ensures seamless integration and real-time data exchange between IO-Link masters and devices such as sensors or actuators via a simple point-to-point serial connection. The IO-Link master acts as a link between the field devices and the control system, while the devices send and receive data directly. This offers advantages such as improved connectivity, simple cabling, real-time monitoring, advanced diagnostics and scalability. IO-Link makes automation systems more efficient, future-proof and suitable for predictive maintenance in a single compact solution.
IO-Link innovations
In addition to the advantages of IO-Link itself, innovative products such as the ET 200clean and SITOP PSU8400 offer additional added value. These solutions improve the performance and reliability of industrial systems in various sectors.
ET 200clean: The hygienic I/O system
The SIMATIC ET 200clean is a compact I/O system with a hygienic design, specially developed for applications in hygiene-sensitive environments, such as the food industry. The system has an IP69K protection rating and a robust, chemically resistant plastic housing. The ET 200clean can be placed outside the control cabinet, close to the sensors and actuators in the field, and is equipped with M12 connections, which simplifies installation. The system is suitable for ambient conditions from -30°C to 55°C and complies with GMP class A/B standards. The ET 200clean has a ‘TESTED DEVICE’ certificate from the Fraunhofer Institute, which guarantees its quality and safety.
SITOP PSU8400: Robust Power Supply with IO-Link
The SITOP PSU8400 offers a robust 24V power supply with an output current of 20A or 40A. This power supply is ideal for applications that require high reliability. What makes this power supply special is its extensive diagnostic capabilities, which are available both locally on the display and remotely via IO-Link. The PSU8400 has an efficiency of up to 96% and a high overload capacity, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability even in harsh conditions. The SITOP PSU8400 can be expanded with the SITOP SEL1600 selectivity system, creating a coordinated network for power supply and load monitoring.
IO-Link: universal, smart, simple.
In a world that is increasingly dependent on data and connectivity, IO-Link offers a powerful solution for companies that want to optimise their processes, reduce costs and improve their predictive maintenance.

IECRead moreTo control the expansion of a silo park, engineering & construction company IEC called on Breemes. Being involved in the engineering from the beginning, the electrical service provider was able to make smart proposals for both the low-voltage part and the PLC control. ‘We have always been able to find each other well and when changes occurred, we were quickly on the same page with Breemes.’
-
TR Service - Future-proof low-voltage panelRead moreTR-Service provides industrial maintenance using all disciplines, from electrical and mechanical to hydraulic and pneumatic. With support from Breemes, the company installed a large low-voltage panel. ‘After discussing my summary plan with them, I decided to just do it,’ says director-owner Raoul Tielens. At Breemes' suggestion, the panel was future-proofed by preparing it for power monitoring.
